Why we yell (even when we don’t want to)

Have you ever woken up saying, today is going to be different from yesterday.

Today I’m not going to lose my temper and yell.

Today I’m going to be the mum I want to be.

And then…

Your kid refuses to get out of bed.
Or
Starts complaining that cleaning up is too hard.
Or
Yells at you.

And then you totally lose it, even though you promised yourself today would be different.

There’s nothing wrong with you.

It’s not because you didn’t try hard enough, or that you’re a terrible parent.

The truth is, getting triggered by the things our kids do, is not something that we can overcome by will power, it’s something we need to learn and it takes practise.

I recently did an interview with Martha Mok from Yeah the Girls 40 + where I spoke about how you can stop the yelling cycle and still get your kids to listen to you.

And if you’re ready to take this work to the next level and apply these tools into your life, then consider booking in a 1-1 call with me, where you’ll learn how to recoginise your triggers so that you can yell less and have a more connected relationship with your child.

If you’re ready to go from just watching a video, nodding your head and saying yeah that sounds great, to actually living and breathing it in your everyday life, with your family, then 1-1 coaching  is for you.

I love showing parents all the ways we can effectively communicate with our kids, without the need to yell. I promise it’s possible. I’ve done it and you can too.

Much love,
